I O U T Y O U I N

“There is something about the physical presence of a space that can induce wonderment; stir the mind and connect one’s artistic bones to its brick and mortar.”

-Paolo A. Santos

This is a short dance film that explores the reciprocal relations between individuals and how this interdependence is also impacted by the interference of external elements.

In this exploration, the choreographers and the filmmaker used introspections induced by the ambiance of a gallery. The physical features of the space provided the challenge to create movements and cinematography that shows both harmony and resistance/conflict.
The result is a conceptual visual and aural poem composed of body movement, articulations and forms, camera movements, scene compositions, and sound design.
